Why does my hair get dry?

Hair fibers are damaged if we subject them too often to treatments such as dyeing and bleaching, but also drying or straightening. All these activities performed improperly may lead to dry hair and destabilization of the protective fat coating. The unprotected scale opens more easily. Then the hair loses water and hydration faster, and eventually becomes dry.

How to recognise dry hair?

1. Dry hair breaks easily and the ends are split.

2. Hair is easily tangled and difficult to detangle.

3. Hair is hard to style, rough to the touch, inelastic and without shine.

4. They look good after washing and lose their shine during the day.

5. Dry hair is often frizzy and static.

6. They wear out easily and you often have to trim the ends.

7. Hair may be normal at the roots, but at least half way through the length it is dry.

What to do to prevent your hair from drying out?

1. Replace hot air drying with cold air blow drying with a diffuser on the dryer. If you can, keep drying to a minimum or avoid it altogether.

2. Consider how often you use a straightener or curler.

3. Do not dye or lighten your hair yourself. Always do it under the supervision of an experienced person, preferably in a hairdressing salon.

4. Try not to tie your hair with a rubber band. It breaks the hair, preventing the water and nutrients from reaching the ends. Instead, choose a buckle.

5. Do not rub your hair with a towel and twist it into a turban, as this gives a rubber-like effect - it limits the flow of substance from the root to the tip of the hair.
